My name is Hyunyoung Jang. I graduated from Florida Institute of Technology last December and currently hold CFI-Instrument Airplane, Commercial Pilot Airplane (ASEL, AMEL), AGI, and IGI certificates, as well as three levels of FAA WINGS (Basic, Advanced, and Master).
 
I am proficient in both Cessna (C172) and Piper (P28A, PA-44-180) fleet. Additionally, have an experience in a multiple panels such as G-1000, G-5, Avidyne and of couse Six Pack.
I have completed my entire flight training under FAA Part 141 except for the CPL Single Add-on and CFI-Instrument rating (Part 61) which makes me understand the pros and cons of each course. Therefore, I can provide the best quality of the instruction by mixing pros from each course.

Izakaya Seokkarae (Japanese restaurant & bar) August 8, 2022 - April 1, 2022 Although this position was short-term. There were more incidents compared to my other experience since it was a bar. However, it was a good opportunity to work and offer different types of service. I learned how to provide service in a busy and fast paced environment. I left this job to resume my academic years at Florida Institute of Technology.
Army Aviation Operations Command (Sergeant rank)
Republic of Korea Army April 11, 2022 - October 12, 2020 I proudly served in the Army Aviation Operation Command in South Korea. My main duties were the Air Defense (AD) and Military Vehicle Driver. It was honored to serve in the military to protect my country. I was discharged as a Sergeant.
Barista
Droptop (Cafe) October 1, 2020 - April 2, 2020 I regularly worked night shifts alone and was responsible for closing the coffee shop. Through this experience, I gained barista skills and experience managing coffee shop operations. I left this job to join the military.
Server & Bartender
Outback Steakhouse January 1, 2020 - March 1, 2019 As a server, I served not only food but also high-quality service to customers. I also worked as a bartender, preparing beverages for customers. This experience gave me valuable experience handling diverse situations and communicating with customers in the service oriented environment. It still remains one of my most meaningful work expeirence and I continue to maintain strong relationships with my coworkers. I left this job to start my academic years at Florida Institute of Technology.

Highlights

Distinguished Student Scholar Award
April 10, 2025 The award is presented to undergraduate students who are currently enrolled and have completed more than 55 credit hours at Florida Tech with cumulative GPAs of 3.8 or higher. Since my cumulative GPA was 3.91, I was eligible to be awarded.
SAFECON Championship 3rd place
March 3, 2025 As a member of the Florida Tech Flighteam, after all the hard work and the support from the FIT aviation, we won 3rd place in our region which qualified us to go to the National Championship in Wisconsin.
Safety Award
March 3, 2025 I competed in the NIFA SAFECON 2025 as a member of the Florida Tech Flighteam. We did our best to prove that Florida Tech Aviation has the best safety system and how we learned. As a result, we got the safety award from the judges.
Dean’s List
December 13, 2025 Undergraduate students who earn 12 or more graded undergraduate credit hours in a semester with a semester GPA of at least 3.4 are dean’s list students for that semester.
