Crew Member/Flight Attendant
Omni Air International - Present Department of Defense Flights crew member on the DC10-30 and the DC10-10. I was stationed in Frankfurt Germany and Aviano, Italy and Sicily, Italy for Operation Iraqi Freedom transporting troops to Kuwait for and during the war flying into Kuwait during condition Delta. *I was awarded a certificate of appreciation for Outstanding Support Operation Iraqi Freedom by US Air Force General John W. Handy, General, USAF, Commander. *I was also presented with a Combat Area Presentation Flag by the Commander Task Group 56.5 Camp Patriot, Kuwait Naval Base, Kuwait, "Operation Iraqi Freedom" by CDR Donald S. Hudson, Commander Task Group 56.5 and Julie L. Beatty, Customs Charlie Company, United States Navy. Our aircraft was shot at while I worked as crew in service to our country. A US Marine was shot and killed on the tarmac protecting our aircraft while we were landing by Iraqi Snipers under condition Delta.
