Description

Position Summary

The Flight Instructor is responsible for providing flight and ground instruction while ensuring compliance with applicable aviation regulations, company procedures, and training standards. This position supports pilot development, maintains accurate training records, promotes safety, and ensures the successful completion of flight training activities.


Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and demonstrate knowledge of applicable Botswana Civil Aviation Regulations (BCARs) and company flight operations manuals
• Maintain proficiency and knowledge of aircraft flight manuals, company SOPs, aircraft systems, and technical information
• Demonstrate high standards of flying proficiency in accordance with company SOPs and accepted aviation practices
• Ensure the safe and proper conduct of all training flights
• Conduct flight training in accordance with company flight training procedures
• Ensure flight training is conducted according to established methods, policies, and procedures
• Oversee completion of all required pre-flight paperwork by trainee pilots
• Supervise aircraft pre-flight inspections and verify aircraft airworthiness for training operations
• Maintain accurate and detailed flight training records
• Promote and actively participate in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS)


Requirements

• Valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
• Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
• Applicable Aircraft Type Rating
• Active line pilot employed by the company
• Valid CAA Flight Instructor Rating or CAA approval to provide flight and ground instruction
• Minimum 1,200 Hours Total Flight Time
• Minimum 200 Hours PIC on the Cessna 208B (for pilots holding an instructor rating)
• Successful completion of all required proficiency, competency, and recency checks required to serve as PIC and Instructor
