About the Company

Freeman Jet Center-Abilene, part of Million Air, provides on-demand Part 135 charter services with a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and customer service. The operation supports a growing fleet and flight department with both flight and management opportunities.


Position Summary

The Chief Pilot is responsible for overseeing flight crew standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting flight operations in coordination with the Director of Operations. This role combines leadership responsibilities with active flying duties as Pilot in Command.


Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage flight crews in coordination with the Director of Operations
• Assign crews to trips and support scheduling operations
• Develop and implement flight operations policies and procedures
• Ensure all aircraft are properly equipped and compliant with regulations
• Maintain aircraft and crew documentation, records, and profiles
• Oversee crew qualifications and ensure regulatory compliance (FARs / OpSpecs)
• Manage MEL program and weight and balance program
• Disseminate operational information including NOTAMs, routes, and procedures
• Act on behalf of the certificate holder when required
• Maintain proficiency as Pilot in Command (PIC)
• Participate in and support Safety Management System (SMS)
• Operate within a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays


Requirements

• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
• Minimum 2,500 total flight hours
• 1,200 PIC hours
• 500 cross-country hours
• 100 night hours
• 75 instrument hours
• Second Class Medical
• 3+ years leadership or management experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent aviation experience
• Strong knowledge of FAR Part 119.71 requirements
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• No FAA violations within the past 5 years
• Legal right to work in the U.S.


Preferred Qualifications

• Chief Pilot experience
• Part 135 experience
• King Air 90/200 experience
