Description

Position Summary

The Fixed Wing Pilot is responsible for serving as Pilot in Command during air medical transport operations while ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of company aircraft. This position works closely with medical crews and operational personnel to provide rapid critical care transportation while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. This position will float between fixed-wing bases as required by operational needs.


Schedule
• 14 Days On / 14 Days Off


Responsibilities
• Serve as Pilot in Command and maintain final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft
• Ensure assigned aircraft is airworthy and all required documentation is onboard
• Accept, reject, terminate, or divert flights when operating conditions require
• Utilize proper Crew Resource Management (CRM) techniques
• Represent the company professionally with patients, customers, vendors, and employees
• Participate in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS)
• Conduct flight planning, weather briefings, and risk assessments
• Ensure compliance with applicable FAA regulations and company procedures
• Verify aircraft weight and balance requirements prior to each flight
• Ensure proper flight locating procedures are followed
• Report FAA incidents, violations, and maintenance discrepancies
• Brief medical crews and passengers before each flight
• Maintain knowledge of company manuals, FAA regulations, and operational procedures
• Perform Tier Two operational control functions
• Float between fixed-wing bases as required by operational needs


Requirements
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate – Airplane Multi-Engine Land
• Instrument Airplane Rating
• FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
• Minimum 500 Hours Multi-Engine Flight Time
• Minimum 1,000 Hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
• Minimum 350 Hours Turbine Time
• ATP Certificate required within five years of employment
• Valid Driver’s License


Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum 2,500 Hours Total Flight Time
• Minimum 700 Hours Multi-Engine Flight Time
• Minimum 1,200 Hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
• Minimum 100 Hours in Type
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
• Previous EMS experience
