Description

Position Summary
The Chief Flight Instructor is responsible for managing Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs) and Training Course Outlines for Rocky Mountain College’s FAA Part 141 and Part 61 flight training programs. This position oversees flight training operations, ensures students achieve required pilot certifications for graduation, serves as the primary liaison with the FAA, and provides leadership for all aspects of Flight Operations.


Responsibilities
• Manage Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs) and FAA Part 141 Training Course Outlines
• Ensure students obtain required pilot certifications under FAR Parts 61, 91, and 141
• Serve as Chief Flight Instructor and Chief Ground Instructor in accordance with FAR Part 141
• Act as the primary liaison between Flight Operations and the FAA
• Assist the Director of Flight Operations with safety and safety program management
• Support staffing, curriculum development, and personnel management
• Serve as liaison between instructors, students, and the Director of Flight Operations
• Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Assist with crisis management planning
• Oversee aircraft scheduling
• Conduct personnel evaluations
• Provide leadership and management for Flight Operations


Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Meet FAR Part 141 minimum qualifications for Chief Flight Instructor
• FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certificate
• FAA Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) Certificate
• FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
• Private Pilot Certificate
• Instrument Rating
• Excellent leadership, written, and verbal communication skills

• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
