Position Summary

The Pilot supports air medical transport operations based in Hempstead, TX. This role involves operating aircraft to transport patients safely while supporting emergency and non-emergency missions on a 14 on / 14 off schedule.


Responsibilities
  • Retain final authority for safe operation of the aircraft
  • Ensure aircraft airworthiness and required documentation
  • Make operational decisions regarding flight acceptance and safety
  • Adhere to Crew Resource Management (CRM) techniques
  • Represent Apollo MedFlight professionally
  • Participate in Safety Management System
  • Conduct flight planning and weather briefings
  • Ensure compliance with FARs and operational procedures
  • Maintain weight and balance compliance
  • Report FAA violations or incidents
  • Ensure proper aircraft equipment checks
  • Brief crew and passengers
  • Report maintenance discrepancies
  • Maintain knowledge of manuals and regulations
  • Participate in risk assessment process
  • Perform operational control functions

Requirements
  • Current FAA Commercial Certificate, Rotorcraft, Helicopter; Instrument, Helicopter
  • Current FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate
  • 2,000 Total Flight Hours
  • 1200 hours of helicopter flight time
  • 1000 hours of PIC time
  • 50 hours of unaided with 100 hours of aided night flight time
  • 500 hours of turbine time
  • ATP
  • 1000 hours of turbine time
  • Will consider candidates with 1,700 Total Flight Hours, requires Director of Operations and Chief Pilot approval.
  • All other flight experience evaluated via CAMTS algorithm worksheet.
  • ATP (Preferred)
  • Previous air medical experience (Preferred)
  • Valid Drivers License
